“Nick Flynn keeps resuscitating himself, and in doing so he refreshes and reaffirms the personal lyric as a crucial and necessary art.” —Marie Howe, poet.
Flynn will both read recent work and discuss his process and inspiration for the intensely personal works he creates in both memoir and poetry.

About Nick Flynn
Nick Flynn is a poet and memoirist. His poetry and prose exquisitely explore the tenuous membrane that separates comfortable, everyday existence from the desperate margins of society, keeping, as the Village Voice describes it, “both the tragic and the redemptive possibilities open.” He is the author of three memoirs, and four books of poetry. His memoir Another Bullshit Night in Suck City (2004) won the PEN/Martha Albrand Award for the Art of the Memoir and has been translated into fifteen languages. It has been made into a film, Being Flynn, starring Robert DeNiro, Julianne Moore, and Paul Dano, and since the film’s release the memoir is now being published under the same title Being Flynn. His most recent book of poetry, published in 2015, is entitled My Feelings: Poems.
